This is more than just a driving job,  it’s an opportunity to make a real difference by providing respectful, person-centred support during every journey. You’ll help people access day services, appointments, and social activities while actively promoting independence, inclusion, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport individuals to and from services, appointments, and community activities.
  • Provide caring, respectful, and engaging support during journeys, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times.
  • Assist passengers with mobility and accessibility needs, including wheelchair access and securement.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety, completing daily checks and reporting any issues.
  • Support the wider care team by contributing to person-centred support plans and sharing observations.
  • Uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety standards consistently.
  • Represent IBC Healthcare with professionalism, compassion, and respect in the community.

About You

You’ll be someone who takes pride in delivering a safe, high-quality service while treating every individual with empathy and respect.

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a driving-focused role (health, social care, or community setting preferred).
  • Understanding of supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or mental health needs.
  • Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to person-centred care and positive outcomes.
  • Calm, flexible, and proactive approach.

Desirable:

  • Previous care or support worker experience.
  • MIDAS or equivalent minibus driver training (or willingness to complete).
  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
  • Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) principles.
